5/1 Star Reader Program continues
Final month to accrue points for participating students to go shopping at the "Star Reader Store" in the Library in June. More reading = More points = More rewards. Happy Reading!

Have old toys, books, art or school supplies lying around your house? Need a place to donate them to? This is your chance to do some spring cleaning and help a good cause at the same time!
The 2nd graders are doing a collection drive for our field trip to Books for the Barrios and would love your new or gently used donations of the following items:

  • Books
  • School supplies (pencils, erasers, sharpeners, glue, scissors, etc)
  • Toys (stuffed toys, board games, puzzles, etc.)
  • Art supplies (crayons, colored pencils, markers, watercolors, paint, etc.)
  • Coloring books

All donations can be dropped off in bins labeled Books for the Barrios at the front of the school or in the Kindergarten area May 13 through May 24.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

5/1 – 5/31 Yard duty supervision
All parents who volunteer will need to have a Volunteer Clearance Form on file at school. Please review the Soul Shoppe and Yard Duty guidelines prior to your shift. Every shift helps and thanks again for your continued help and hope to see you soon at Lunch Recess!

Library Volunteers needed!
We would like to thank the parents who have been regularly volunteering at the Library. If you could come even for a half hour and help re-shelf books, that would be great. Thank you for your time! Volunteers, please sign up here!

Fitness Friday Volunteers needed for Fall 2013!
The Fitness Friday program has grown to nearly 140 participants since its inception 1.5 years ago. The Hidden Hills community has enjoyed the program! Parent volunteers are much needed to continue this program into the Fall. Please contact Neha Fowler to volunteer.

2013-14 Site Council Board
The Hidden Hills Site Council is in need of several parents to join our board for the 2013-14 school year.  The School Site Council serves as the school community representative body for determining the focus of the school's academic instructional program and all related categorical resources.  We meet 4-5 times/year to create/update the school site plan, review the budget and provide ongoing monitoring of the implementation of the site plan.  If you are interested or would like more information on Site Council, please contact Jennifer Ottley .

Poker Tournament to benefit HH
We still have a few spots for the Hidden Hills Men's Poker Tournament on Saturday evening June 1st.  Each player will receive dinner, a drink ticket, and a seat at the tournament. There will be professional dealers at each table and a no-host bar the entire night.  There will be prizes for the top winners and bounty prizes for eliminating certain players including Principal Ken Nelson.  The buy-in is only $100 and 100% of the buy-in goes to the Hidden Hills Hawks Education Fund.  To register or if you have any questions please contact: Rahul Keswani.

SCHOOL INFORMATION:

May is National Physical Fitness Month
We are dedicating this month to raise awareness about the health benefits of physical activity – both at home and community at large.

To that effect, Kutunga makes it easier by bringing a host of video downloads from Amy Dixon Fitness, Ageless Pilates, Comfort Zone Yoga & Breakthru Fitness to name a few...

Kutunga donates 20% to Hidden Hills while you shop from the Kutunga Hidden Hills Cause shop!
